Oneida offered the free system design service with the purchase, so I submitted my tool & shop information, received their plans, and ordered my system. Bill, I think the key to good dust separation is to ensure that all the connections are completely air tight. They will help you design your system which is another plus in my book. The $72 V-system 3-legged stand needed too much floor space and it just wouldnt work for me. The wall bracket would be an excellent choice if mounted on a masonry wall, but on my 2x4 framed, plywood covered wall, it would have amplified the machines sound. Upon opening the boxes, I discovered some material changes in the equipment. If you send them a diagram of your shop and intended tool placement, they will tell you what they think you need. Oneida Air has specifically engineered this stand to fit comfortably underneath typical 8ft ceiling heights, making it perfect for garage or basement shops! The review here on this forum convinced me that I should spend some more money to get the system that "became the standard in our test to measure other units against", and it was American made! The only thing is whether or not you have the overhead space or not. I still was using hoses, and decided that I would get my ductwork elsewhere because of my experience with their customer service. - Suction: even though Grizzly claims the G1030 is 2300 CFM versus the V-systems claimed 1105 CFM, the Oneida seems to move at least as much air as the Grizzly did with clean filters. I have a Magnahelic gauge on mine and it has stayed low. My thoughts are I should look at single phase 3hp systems so I have adequate collection at each point in the shop. No one else does, I have an Oneida Dust Gorilla Pro 2HP for my home shop and it works fantastic.

However, when the bin was removed for cleaning, it was empty, except for a very thin dust coating on the bottom. Got the system completed, started it up, and was amazed at the quality of the performance. In planning my new shop, Ive been looking at new DC systems to replace the HF system Ive been using the past few years. I had questions about the filters they utilize and the area of filtration vs what others use and it was explained very well how it all works and why the materials for the filter matter and how it influences dust collection and filter maintenance. during all the time i have had it i have only had to replace one remote starter (around $49). I guess the next step is a call to Oneida to get more answers.
The dust collector comes equipped with a 35 gallon steel drum - best for holding a large amount of dust and debris without being overwhelming when full.
All Rights Reserved. Assembly instructions were very clear and complete and its largely a one person job except that mounting the very heavy (and expensive) motor/fan assembly on top of the cyclone is a 2-man job.
