Tart, fruity floral. Well, today I finally found someone selling a bottle at an affordable price. The longevity of this perfume is beast mode. I bought Meliora for my mom. They all may smell nice or OK on opening but dry down really cheap and hollow on me.
I wasn't a fan at first. Rose can be a very difficult note for me but Delina is the most beautiful jammy rose. She's impossible not to notice when she's around. the transition from fruity to floral is so smooth and overall this is such a well blended scent. I wasn't sure I like it, but after the drydown its the best fragrance I ever wore by far. So sexy, elegant feminine. Definitely should smell it first and if you don't like florals you probably won't like this! it has that quality that kind of makes your nose tickle/feel dry. I used up almost all of my travel spray and realized I needed to get a full bottle when I was down to a few sprays because I couldn't get enough of this scent. I go back and forth between wishing this perfume would stop going viral (so I can smell unique) and hoping it stays popular forever so that it never gets discontinued. Its unpleasant and then theres the outrageous price tag too. And then there's also this soapyness, not unpleasant. The rose steps forward shortly thereafter, and I really like the balance it strikes against its very prominent fruitiness, as I personally prefer sharp fruit notes to florals. I don't really like rose, but the way it's done here with the lychee and vanilla brightening and sweetening it, and the smokiness also adding an edge, makes for a really nice accord. I keep waiting for the rarity to emerge, but it hasn't yet. I am a big rose fan and this hits the mark for me in a big way. Warm, inviting, luxurious but meticulous and clean. Delina has a very vivid Grape Blow-Pop opening. I prefer classic Delina over Exclusif, however both are amazing. Ive worn it several times on different days and still dont understand the hype. This is another one that I find nice, but not $300 worth of nice. I purchased this perfume for myself, I smelled it on someone at of all places a pet hospital, not the best place for scents. PDM is a quality brand and the perfume is very quality made, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, but I don't get the hype on the juice itself. The fragrance opens with the freshness of a fruity bergamot-pear-lychee trio and grows into burnt oud notes. I guess this is a man eater perfume. This is often described as a fruity/girly fragrance, to me this is a very mature, powdery, spiced rose. I can see why this fragrance popularized the rose/lychee/rhubarb combo which unfortunately makes denila smell less original. Seriously cant believe how much i have had to revisit a perfume house like i have this one, i normally make up my mind after a paper sample then skin sample but not this house I have had such a crazy ride with parfum de marly delina/delina exclusif line in particular i think my recovering sense of smell is to blame post covid I really detested this scent and much preffered exclusif version when i first started testing this house in december 2021 but just recently I have fallen in love with this scent and need it in my collection ASAP! I figured out what this is a cheap copy of. Very sharp and strong opening with litchi, muscat and fresh rose, followed by some dusty notes of cashmere and something tobacco-like sickening (to my nose, that sickening note is exactly like the one in David Beckham's Follow Your Instinct!). Got a sample of this and at first sniff, all I got was musty roses-- then on my skin, I got a lot of tart almost sour fruit, like unripe strawberries and rhubarb pie. As a rose this is very fruity sweet, musky and powdery, this is not a real rose by any means. The rhubarb is the most prominent note and has a sour, bitter dry-down yet the fragrance itself is very light. The rose here is very genuine and pretty, and the litchi/rhubarb/bergamot add a nice citrus tang, but this thing is really just a big vanilla-and-sweet-musk-encrusted rose. This is like a more refined version of Chloe EDP with the soapiness replaced by amped-up tart fruitiness. Parfums de Marly draws its inspiration from the century which celebrated the pinnacle of French elegance: the 18th century, the reign of perfume. I will say tho that its tolerable and doesnt smell too mature but its just not the type of scent I like at all. This smells great! I want to try Athalia by this brand, I think I'll have better luck with that one, but I'm definitely getting a tester because this one was so disappointing (I usually love scents like this and the notes seem wonderful) and now I have trust issues with Marly LOL. I do not usually like rose perfumes but this one is good. I finally blind bought this and not a fan. This scent is so intoxicating, for me atleast, and I found myself keep wanting to get waft's of my girlfriends scent trail. In the beginning you dont know what to expect but you have heard many people talk about it. This is my grail perfume. My sister who is in her mid-to-late 40s also really loves Delina too. Now that I think about it, it smells as though I burned sage and rubbed it on my skin. However, it was just far too strong, I mean I literally only sprayed once and had a horrible headache. Gorgeousness and seduction in the most sexy bottle on the planet ! I kid you not and my eyes popped out of their sockets when I heard lol. After like 3 hours on the skin the pepper feel does leave a bit but not completely. Pretty much smells like her flacon tells you she will: gorgeous, Rococo, feminine, spring-like, a sea of blush-toned roses. Got a discovery set, and decided that Delina Exclusif is 'my' Delina - it was a love at first sniff. An upgrade from those perfumes directed at teenagers like Ariana Grande or Paris Hilton.
