Formerly Camp Zoe and located in Eminence, MO, the beautiful Echo Bluff State Park is a relatively new park with lots to offer by way of accommodations and things to do. We tried to find photos of the tent sites, found a few videos of people showing one, but not camping there. When we were there on Tuesday through Thursday, the restaurant was only staffed with one server and one cook and they weren't serving outdoors. The sites are spacious and not crowded. Site specific water hookups may not be available depending on the time of year. We hiked painter ridge trail about 2 miles which was an easy hike. The camp hosts are friendly. This trail takes you up toward the pavilion and gives you quite an extraordinary view of the river and bluffs, but there are plenty of smaller bluffs like this one along the way. The ground is deceptively inclined, so be sure to bring leveling blocks. On the backside of the lodge there is a huge deck with nice composite chairs and tables and a view of Sinking Creek Great group campsite with adjacent canoe rental. The RV section is well laid out. Current river state park is a 5.25 mile hike, one way from echo bluff and a 2 mile drive. Today, the camp itself is long gone, but a different kind of visitor is returning to explore this picturesque landscape that has been transformed into Echo Bluff State Park. The interesting thing is that the campsites are all positioned so campers get sunshine on the door side of their campers. No cell service, but the camp wifi worked when I could get a signal. If you get out and explore the area, you can explore the historic Alley Mill, find a waterfall at Rocky Falls, visit several brilliant blue springs, take a float trip on the Current River, and much more.
