The replacement has been fine and hasn't failed, but for me it feels less rugged than some and detracts slightly from the overall experience, despite Kask saying it's larger than the previous design, and coated in special rubber to increase finger grip. Fits true to size. Mavic's Comete Ultimate MIPS is also 245, and is made using EPS-4D technology that's said to be more effective at absorbing impacts than a standard EPS construction. Ventilation is decent for an aero helmet but I still get more sweat dripping into my eyes/glasses than I did with my Giro. Love it. With an eco-leather chinstrap which is anallergic & washable helping to avoid skin irritation, a rubberised Micro Dial adjuster on the back of the helmet and a floating cradle with internal gel pads for the Kask Protone features Coolmax inner padding treated with an antibacterial and antimicrobial process to help keep the helmet fresh and odour free. In addition to the immediately obvious vents and rear exhaust port, the Protone incorporates Coolmax padding. I ride in a lot of cross- and head-wind, and the wind doesn't seem to catch my head like it did with my Bell Sweep. Totally approve of the pedantry but might need to get an apostrophe in there to make it credible. Would recommend to anyone. Like this site? Very light. The Coolmax lining has an antimicrobial treatment, and the chin strap is made from eco-leather that's washable along with being super soft to prevent irritation.
