Portable thickness planers have to squeeze a lot of power into a small footprint that can be reasonably moved around a shop or to a job site. It has 12 wheels and can be easily set up and taken down by one person. Havent found anything in the manual or on the web. It appears that all these units are equipped with 15 Amp, 110/120V single phase motors and the graph clearly indicates that some of them are going into high over load, particularly the DW735 at continuous 213% for the time it was dealing with the poplar.
